How to Setup an Email Account in Outlook ExpressBack to FAQ's. Back to Knowledge Base. Before you begin you will need 4 things, 3 from us, and 1 from your ISP (whoever provides your internet connection). These are...
1. In Outlook Express choose Accounts... from the Tools menu.
2. Click Add, then Mail...
3. Type in your name - be careful, this is what people will see as the From Address when they receive the email. You may want to include your Company name.
4. Type in your full email address.
5. We will have provided the first setting, either mail.goldhosts.com, or server3.goldhosts.biz. The second setting for your SMTP server is provided by your ISP, so will be something like smtp.btinternet.com.
6. The Account name is your full email address. Enter your Password and leave the tick in for it to be remembered.
7. Click Finish, although we are not quite there yet!
8. Double click the new account you have just created, or click it once and select Properties.
9. Under the General tab, you can give the account a more meaningful name.
10. Under the Servers tab, we may ask you to put a tick in the highlighted box, if your incoming server is server3.goldhosts.biz.
11. You will now see your new account with it's new name. Now you can click Close

Outlook Express is a fully featured email program. Many think that Outlook is a better program, but it is more complicated to configure and use, without providing much extra you will actually use. Outlook Express comes free with most version of Windows operating system. Outlook will not work if you un-install Outlook Express - even Outlook uses Outlook Express for it's email! | |
